About Him
I am fairly educated. I have lived a lot and made a lot of mistakes and learned from them (I hope). I have great affection for (and a deep desire to protect) all innocent, broken and defenseless creatures and people of this world. I was raised in a very old school way, so I have old school values, which I try hard to live by - honesty, balancing of male ego with gentleness and compassion, self sacrifice for the greater good, responsibility, stiff upper lip, "compromise where you can, and where you can't, don't". I'm ambitious -and although I realize money isn't everything, the people who guard the gateways to where I want to go in life don't agree with me on that. Therefore I work very hard to achieve and try to do so with the self imposed burden of "succeeding while being ethical". I try to balance my drive with a keen awareness that the people in my life also have needs and desires that are not less important than my own and nothing brings me greater joy than seeing their dreams realized. I do not believe in organized religion (I don't believe it was ever the aim of God to create divisions between people) and I am a man of science, but as I grow older, I lean more and more towards the idea of the existence of "something" beyond science. There's lots more I can say, but no one reads these things anyway.

Someone kind and gentle. Intelligence and looks are important, and a good sense of humor goes a very long way. I was raised with strong family values and experience has taught me that getting involved with someone without those same values is just not going to work in the long run. I'm optimistic and fun and I find it so much easier to be so when around someone who is also optimistic and fun. We all have our own realities and conflicts arise when we try to get our partners to accept our own realities. I don't want to try to force anyone to accept my reality as it is very difficult for me to accept anyone else's. But life is so much more enjoyable when your and my realities are similar. So a shared world view is also something that will increase the chances of us having a happy and honest long life together. I'm very honest with myself about what I am and what I am not. It's nice meeting those rare people who are as honest with themselves.
